Fall 2014, Spring 2015
A match-making social experiment based on the sense of smell.
Inspired by decade’s long research on pheromones and their role in mating. Participants wore cotton shirts for 3-5 days, placed them in anonymously numbered jars. They were then invited to an evening where everyone smelled each other’s shirts and chose whichever scent they preferred. Participants’ numbers were then revealed, with the choice to approach any person who’s scent they liked.
